In most solitaire games, five cards are laid out face up in four rows; on the contrary, there are four cards in five rows. Then the cards are rotated around their axis in order to find matches of the pictures with neighboring cards. You cannot move a card through one card, you can only rotate it in one place. Each deck is accompanied by information with the meanings of the matching pictures.
Information for Solitaire Collectors
A solitaire set usually contains twenty cards. All solitaire games are divided into a wide variety of themes: Arabic, magical, love, oracle, fire dragon, Gothic, zodiac, Russian, Indian, floral, mahjong. Recently, modified solitaire games have begun to be published that have the same design on all cards, numbered from 1 to 20. The values of such solitaire games are considered by the numbers drawn, and not by the matching pictures. For example, the “Fire Dragon” solitaire game has the same dragon design on all cards, and the cards are numbered from 0 to 6. When playing this solitaire game, two cards are drawn, deciphering the value of a two-digit number will be a prediction.

And choosing the most suitable deck for yourself can be quite difficult. But if you carefully understand what types of tarot cards exist, making an informed choice will be much easier.
What you should know about Tarot
The very first mentions of a deck of Tarot cards appeared in the very distant past. Unfortunately, the exact date is unknown. Today, there are several theories of their origin, each of which finds new supporters every day.
Some researchers are confident that these maps contain unique knowledge of Atlantis, which was previously contained in the book of Thoth.
And after the death of the ancient civilization, they were handed over to the priests in Ancient Egypt. But the Egyptian civilization was also destroyed. According to legend, the ancient priests of Egypt, who had been keeping knowledge for a long time, decided to encrypt it in a special deck of cards.
And later it underwent significant changes. First, Kabbalistic signs from Ancient Palestine were added to the maps.
The deck was then transported to Europe. And ultimately, the very first deck, containing as many as 78 cards, was first made in Italy.
A variety of interpretations and names of Tarot cards have survived to this day, which may differ not only in meaning, but also in the number of arcana. And conditionally we can distinguish a certain classification. Although the same deck is sometimes classified as different types.
And often they are not assigned to any specific species at all. Therefore, it is often difficult for a novice tarot reader to choose the right deck for himself. But having familiarized himself with the most common ones, it will be much easier to make the right choice.
Below are the most famous types of cards that have received the widest distribution around the world.
Classic decks of cards
This category includes Tarot cards whose types were created in ancient times by an unknown author. They have 78 arcana, which are divided into several main suits. Over the several hundred years of their existence, maps have undergone significant changes, and it would be quite difficult to call them universal. After all, they are able to give answers only to certain questions.
Today, the following classic types of Tarot decks are widely known:
- Marseille Tarot.
This deck got its name due to the fact that it was first made in Marseille. The arcana included in the Tarot of Marseilles are executed in a special style that fully complies with all the canons of symbolism. And this type of tarot cards does not have meanings as such. And each lasso here is nothing more than a certain symbol, the meaning of which still needs to be unraveled. Each small curl can carry meaning and some kind of hint. - Egyptian Tarot.
It has a mystical origin and is actively used by modern tarot readers. It is believed that the first deck was created by the famous esotericist Papus. It included tarot cards that were black and white. And only more than half a century later a color version was published. Among the features of the Egyptian Tarot, one should highlight the image of the goddess Isis on the Priestess card, the lack of a number on the Jester's lasso and the lack of drawing of the minor arcana. - Renaissance Tarot.
They were first created during the Renaissance and have an appearance with special iconography. The arcana depict a world of aristocratic ideals, the origins of which allow us to look into the past and provide an opportunity to know the future. But tarologists note a certain capriciousness of these cards, which may not answer ordinary everyday questions. But their symbolism is simple and therefore the interpretation will be simple even for beginners. - Montaigny Tarot.
It is considered a fairly easy-to-understand deck, which tarot readers often classify as oracles and therefore recommend laying out in addition. Cards of this type are arranged in 5 rows, completely covering the conditions of life, the world of science and art, the characters of people, as well as the celestial sphere. Montaigny's Arcana indicates and guides along a certain path of development, but often does not give exact answers to the questions posed. - Etteila deck.
It is distinguished by its clear drawing and the presence of a certain interpretation, which can be easily read in the forward and reverse position. With the Arcana of Etteila, you can find out the most likely events of the future, based on the current state of affairs. Arcana are also capable of pointing out possible dangers that threaten the fortuneteller in the foreseeable future.
The listed varieties of classic decks are not the only ones. But they are rightfully considered the most popular and widespread. With it, any beginner can master the mysterious world of the Tarot card system. Especially if you show patience and diligence.
Fortune telling cards are used for predictions. There are many types of them, and you are free to choose any to make predictions for yourself or others. Maps will help you find answers to specific questions or give a general idea of the situation.
They can provide general guidance and clarity to your life path and goals. Decks of fortune telling cards are built on a thematic basis. Some of the most popular types are: angelic, advanced master cards, tarot cards, s cards, magic cards, life purpose cards, and spirit guide cards. When choosing a deck, choose a theme that you feel internally drawn to. This way you establish a connection with the cards and make a choice in favor of the deck that will give you valuable information when working.
Tarot cards have been known for thousands of years. Most often they are used to establish a connection with the higher self, obtain answers to specific questions and to clarify a general situation.
As a rule, when reading Tarot cards, a positive approach to questions and situations is used, and the questions are formulated quite broadly. For example, if you want to know more about your love life, you ask how to bring more love into your life, but you don't ask when you will get married. By phrasing questions this way, you will get more meaningful information.
The Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, which are divided into the major arcana and minor arcana. Each of the cards belonging to the major arcana symbolizes an ideal, principle or concept. Here are the names of some cards (they depend on the deck): “Sun”, “Moon”, “Peace”, “Strength”, “Lovers”, “Justice”, “Wheel of Fortune”. The minor arcana are divided into 4 suits: Wands (clubs), Swords (spades), Cups (hearts) and Coins (diamonds). Each suit has 4 face cards (king, queen, knight and page), and the remaining 10 have values from 1 to 10 points.
Each Tarot card has its own meaning, as well as an additional meaning if it is face down on the table. Additional values depend on the layout. The two most popular layouts are the “Celtic Cross”, when the cards are arranged in the shape of a cross and each is interpreted in detail, and the three-card layout, when 3 cards are taken from the deck - the first talks about the past, the second about the present, and the third about the future.
Before you begin using divination cards, clear them with a White Light visualization and give them the intention of working solely for the highest good. If at any time you feel that the energy of the cards is dirty or does not flow freely, cleanse them again. Using different decks allows you to see different perspectives - depending on the type of deck. You can use one deck for fortune telling, and another for further clarification of the same situation.
When fortune telling using cards depicting animals, psychics use a special deck and draw intuitive conclusions for the client, including helping him find his totem or understand how an animal establishes a connection on a spiritual level. These types of fortune telling are often called fortune telling by animal totems. People need this when they often see a certain animal in their dreams or when it constantly appears in their life.
Card readers use everything at once: the information given by the cards, intuition and clairvoyance. Fortune telling is based on a variety of layouts that allow you to see the client’s character and the situation that worries him.
This or that type of fortune telling is explained by the instructions included with the card deck. Some fortune tellers allow the client to choose the deck that best suits his wishes; others choose it themselves depending on the client’s energy.
When doing fortune telling, you should focus on the person and his situation, shuffling and trimming the deck until you feel that the combination you have found is correct (or you can ask the client to do this), and then lay out the cards in a certain way. Then you need to interpret the layout in accordance with the meaning of each card and the intuitive impressions received.
An example of fortune telling by cards
If you already have tarot and fortune telling cards, select the ones you want to use for fortune telling now. If you don't have your own cards, purchase some to complete this exercise. When choosing a deck, choose the one you feel drawn to (as discussed above). It will be better if you also buy a book with rules of interpretation. Some decks come with a book, a bag or case, and a journal for recording your results. Perhaps this set is right for you.
Armed with a deck, start telling fortunes for yourself. Start with a simple three-card spread and focus on one specific issue (or situation). Shuffle the deck until you feel the energy is right, and then arrange the cards into several piles. Choose the piles you feel drawn to and then take one card from the top of each pile or stack them together and take the first three cards from the top. Then read what each card means and think about how those meanings relate to your situation. Allow your intuition to provide you with additional information as you interpret the past, present and future. After finishing the fortune telling, determine whether you have received an answer to your question.
Probably not a single person would refuse to find out what awaits him in the future. For many centuries, people have been using fortune telling cards to predict the course of events, and this gives them confidence in the coming day.
The origin of fortune telling cards - the history of the origins of fortune telling on cards
The first mention of the use of such maps in Europe dates back to the 14th century. In those days, fortune tellers used ivory tablets. There are many hypotheses about where these tablets were brought from: some believe that they came to us from India or China; others - that the gypsies brought them with them. Some are sure that the crusaders brought these decks with them when returning from Palestine.
Wherever they came from, fortune telling cards became quite popular in Europe, which led to the appearance of separate varieties of such cards brought from different countries. To the question “Why exactly did cards begin to be used for fortune telling, since there are other methods?” can be answered quite simply: after all, when using cards, the fortuneteller did not require any special attributes, no special place for rituals, or significant financial costs.
Types of fortune telling cards :
Tarot cards
One of the most popular cards for predicting the future are the so-called Tarot cards. For many centuries, magicians and clairvoyants have used this particular type of fortune-telling cards to predict the subsequent fate of our world, states and rulers. Based on the research of scientists who studied ancient Egyptian temples, the name “Tarot”, according to their version, comes from the Egyptian “TA-Rosh”, which means “the way of kings”. Knowledge passed to the priests of the land of the sun from the inhabitants of the mythical city - Atlantis. The first knowledge of the Tarot was concentrated in the hieroglyphic “Book of Thoth”. It consisted of 78 gold plates with mysterious signs applied to them. According to some beliefs, this is the only book that survived the fire in the Library of Alexandria. Later, the book passed on to the Greeks and Romans, and from them it spread throughout the world. There are about fifty varieties of Tarot cards. The most common Tarot cards are:
- Tarot Ibis
- Marseille Tarot
- Tarot Thoth Aleister Crowley
- Rider-Waite Tarot
Tarot Ibis are the oldest type of Tarot cards. One of the sacred images in Egyptian temples was the image of the Ibis bird, and the entire deck is dedicated to this symbolic creature. According to many who read fortunes using these cards, this deck will help you understand inner balance, introduce you to ancient mysteries and help you comprehend the ancient wisdom of the Egyptians.
The first to use Tarot cards in Europe was the French artist Jacqumien Gringonier, who received 50 sous for three decks of cards of different colors, compiled for the entertainment of the feeble-minded Charles the Sixth (1380-1422).
By the beginning of the 15th century, Tarot had gained great popularity in almost all European countries; in Italy, Tarot figures were drawn during the Renaissance, and many cards were made and sold in Germany. The resourceful French created their own version of these cards - Marseille Tarot. Some of the first images of such decks were wood engravings, which have survived to this day.
Aleister Crowley, based on the "Book of Thoth", created his interpretation of the Tarot, known today as Tarot Thoth Aleister Crowley. Perhaps this is the most luxurious Tarot deck. Another feature of these cards is that they have a direct connection with astrology and numerology. Thoth, as you know, is the ancient Egyptian god of wisdom and writing; he served as the prototype for the Greek Hermes and Roman Mercury. The Greek equivalent was called Trismegistus. A very important place in this deck is occupied by the elements and some signs of the zodiac circle, and, as Crowley shows, the cards have a direct connection with the Kabbalistic “Tree of Life”. This variety of Tarot is ideal for those who want to work with both Tarot and astrology at the same time.
Nowadays, there are such varieties of Tarot cards as Rider-Waite Tarot, developed by Pamela Smith and the famous occultist Arthur Waite in London. This deck is special in that, according to the authors, it is much better suited for predictive interpretations of the future than the “frozen forms” of images that are used in classic Tarot cards. This deck was first introduced in 1910.
Appearance of Tarot cards. Designation of Tarot cards in the deck.
In the past, only a select few could read the Tarot, since each card of this mysterious deck combines completely contradictory interpretations, and therefore not everyone could combine all the symbols into one single prediction picture.
The classic deck of Tarot cards is divided into two groups (arcana), based on their significance: the major arcana and the minor. The Major Arcana includes 22 trump cards, and the Minor Arcana contains 56 cards, divided equally into four suits. Separately, there are two “white” cards, which, by the way, remain in all interpretations of the Tarot.
According to the classic Tarot, the Major Arcana contains cards with images of people and the most important events. They play a key role in all fortune-telling; often the basis for fortune-telling a person’s fate is based on only one trump card - the Joker (jester).
In the Minor Arcana, the names of the suits differ from the generally accepted names in playing cards. In Tarot cards these are: staves, swords, coins and cups. The key cards in each suit are the King, Queen, Prince and Page. All other cards do not have their own names and are simply numbered.
Lenormand cards
Madame Lenormand's deck of cards for fortune telling appeared in the 19th century in France. They were compiled by Maria Lenormand, a famous clairvoyant who even told fortunes to Napoleon and his wife. It was Maria who predicted Napoleon’s rise to the throne and power, and then his loss in the war with the Russian Empire. Josephine, the emperor's wife, greatly valued the services of the clairvoyant, but in 1808 Bonaparte expelled Lenormand from Paris, considering her predictions false and undermining the victorious spirit.
Madame Lenormand used a regular deck of 36 cards, but it was she who came up with an original interpretation of each of them. Many fortune tellers at that time did not give an accurate idea of the client’s future, they only hinted at possible outcomes, and he had to “figure out” the rest himself. Maria put special symbols on the cards, easy to interpret, which together formed a certain picture, understandable to both the clairvoyant and the client himself.
The key cards in the Lenormand deck are only two cards - the Queen and the Gentleman. They represent the people on whom fortune-telling is taking place, while the rest of the cards signify events. This system is also convenient because you can use a regular deck of cards for fortune telling. All you have to do is number all the cards from 1 to 36, the Queen will be the 29th, and the gentleman will be the 28th.
Cards rune
Following the rules of fortune telling with runes, the main thing is to establish strong spiritual contact with them, it is then that the opportunity arises to find out the future, to look into the mystical and mysterious depths of the universe. By itself, the rune is a sign similar to the arcana from the Tarot. Literally, the rune means “question”, “whisper”, “request”.
According to the classical canons, there are 24 runes in total, which means there are 24 cards, each of which has its own rune inscribed on it. Together they can describe any event or process. The Philosophy of Runes gives them a description of bricks, the basis of world matter, which does not require any additions, being an integral and self-sufficient system.
Manufacturers of fortune telling cards
Among the manufacturers of fortune telling cards, there are both world-famous brands and decks without any distinctive names, except for the inscription “Fortune cards, gypsy”, or “Tarot cards for fortune-telling”. But if you still opt for branded cards, because their quality is much higher, then the following companies produce cards for fortune telling (mainly Tarot): U.S.G.S. Inc (USA), Fournier (Spain), AGMuller (Switzerland), Lo Scarabeo (Italy), Avvallon (Russia), NMT (USA). There may be other manufacturers, but it is the products of these corporations that can be easily found on the CIS market.
All that remains is to ask, do you want to know your future, comprehend the depths of your “I” and become more confident in your destiny? If yes, then all you have to do is buy yourself fortune telling cards (almost all decks come with instructions) and plunge into the world of mysteries and mysteries!

Love fortune telling “Loves or not”
The simplest and most common card fortune telling for love is called “Loves or not.” To do this, the shuffled deck is laid out in five groups of 3 cards, each group indicating a certain period of life. 3 cards in the center of the table determine heartfelt experiences, 2 groups on the sides are the present, cards at the top of the main layout are the future, and the bottom group marks the past, which will soon leave you. The remaining cards do not take any part in fortune telling.
- if aces of all suits appear, this means that there is already a certain chemistry between you;
- when a jack and 9 hearts are added to this combination, wedding troubles await you soon;
- 10 hearts indicates growing interest on the part of the guy;
- cards of spades near the jack of the desired suit indicate possible troubles for the lover, the queen of spades in the same place is a rival.
The layout of this fortune-telling can be interpreted using standard notations, but it is worth taking into account that cards with “faces” - jacks, queens and kings, in addition to their basic meanings, can represent real people.
Fortune telling "Four Jacks"
This alignment will allow you to determine the feelings of several gentlemen at once. To carry out the ritual, you need to choose all the jacks from the deck, and think about which of them will represent a certain person. If you don’t have 4 guys in mind, let the rest be strangers, the main thing is not to forget who exactly you wished for a certain suit.
Jacks must be laid out horizontally on the table, face down. Under each of them, spread vertical stacks of the remaining cards - a total of 8 pieces in a row. Select double cards from each row and place them on the corresponding jack. Shuffle the deck and repeat the same thing 3 more times. Now you can begin the interpretation. Turn over the jacks and see the designations of each pair of cards that lie on top.
6 – take the first step towards the guy, he is interested, but too shy;
7 – expect a romantic rendezvous;
8 – a serious conversation will take place soon, its outcome depends on your desire;
9 – the guy is slightly in love, don’t push him away;
10 – a person has been showing you signs of attention for a long time, but you ignore him;
Ladies - the guy has a girlfriend;
Kings are rare jealous people, beware of his anger;
Aces - the guy has real feelings for you - show reciprocal interest if you like the young man.
Fortune telling "Question and answer"
The most elementary version of fortune telling, which, however, often gives the most truthful answers. The main rule when carrying out such fortune-telling is to relax and not think of an answer in advance, since the cards are sensitive to the mental manifestation of feelings.
While shuffling the deck well, mentally ask a question that can be answered unambiguously: “yes” or “no.” After shuffling the cards, take any of them from the middle and look at its suit. If a card of a red suit comes out - diamonds or hearts, then the answer is “yes”, but if you have a card of a black suit in your hands - spades or clubs, then the answer is “no”.
Fortune telling "Ace + 10"
To carry out such fortune telling, you will need only 8 cards from the deck - these are all aces and 10s. For each ace, you need to wish for a specific friend whose feelings you want to know about. After shuffling the aces, they are placed face down on the table. Now you need to shuffle the 10s and place them on top. The final stage will be to check the suits for matching. If any Ace and 10 have the same suit, this person has tender feelings for you.
Fortune telling "New acquaintance"
This fortune telling can be carried out only once for a specific person, if the first time you did not get a positive result, fortune telling twice or three times is simply pointless, since you will not receive a truthful answer.
The deck needs to be divided into two parts - one will contain cards with pictures, the other will contain the rest. We count the number of letters in the name of the young man for whom fortune telling is being carried out, and the shuffled half of the deck with pictures is laid out into that number of columns.
Afterwards, the remaining part of the cards is taken and reported further, from the moment the cards of the first half ended. The column with the last card out of 36 is scattered from the very beginning of the piles, and this continues until one column is formed.
Under no circumstances should you shuffle the deck now. The final stage is to lay out cards two in a column. Identical cards in a pair are put aside; it is precisely such combinations that will help interpret fortune telling.
- a pair of aces - the young man’s attitude towards you is based only on sexual attraction;
- a pair of kings - the guy has feelings for you, but is still embarrassed to show them;
- a couple of ladies - most likely, your chosen one has a girlfriend or spouse;
- a pair of jacks - the guy has not decided on his feelings for you;
- a couple of tens - soon the young man will begin to show his interest;
- a pair of nines is a symbol of mutual feelings, however, if one of the 9 is of spades, then love will subsequently be unrequited;
- a pair of eights means a quarrel or disagreement, but the presence of 8 of spades, on the contrary, promises a sincere and warm conversation;
- a pair of sevens – a date or romantic encounter;
- a pair of sixes is a good sign, symbolizing the beginning of a new long-term relationship.
Basic rules of fortune telling
In card fortune telling, as well as in other methods of predicting fate, there are certain rules and techniques, following which you can get the most complete and reliable result.
- For fortune telling, you need a new playing deck of cards; if it has already been used at least once, such cards are not suitable;
- Using Tarot cards, it is impossible to interpret predictions exactly as written on them. Only an experienced specialist can correctly designate the resulting alignment by drawing an analogy with existing matches and combinations;
- You shouldn’t guess during important church holidays;
- Recently, online fortune-telling in real time has been very popular, but real predictions about your fate can only be obtained by holding a fortune-telling deck in your own hands;
- Fortune telling with cards is not a difficult task, so you shouldn’t give fabulous sums to fortune tellers on the street.
