Galan electronic heating boilers. Galan electrode boiler, what is it, how to install an electrode boiler.
Galan was founded in 1992. She already had interesting conversion developments at her disposal at that time. In addition, she used various standards of military equipment. The Galan company understood that the old liquid and solid fuel boilers were not very efficient. Plus, they take up a lot of space, in most cases are unsafe for humans and can be harmful to their health. The same applies to boilers that are operated on gaseous fuels. Given this, everyone understood the need to create completely new heating systems.
That is why the company "Galan" in 1993 began its research in the field of production of electrode boilers. They are classified as flow devices. In fact, these devices were electric heating, functioning due to the ionization of the coolant.
Where did it all begin?
The first electrode received positive. It was invented in 1994. It immediately became clear to everyone that this technology has the right to exist. According to the results of some tests, scientists came to the conclusion that the new boilers can save a lot. As a result, it became possible to heat a large room and spend less electricity on it compared to a conventional boiler.
An additional advantage of such devices was their cost. Immediately after the release, the devices began to be installed at various posts and warehouses that were far from communication networks. They were also used as a means of combating natural disasters. At the same time, there was a large savings in funds, which could not but please people.
In 1997, the Galan company began to improve all its factories. Purchased first modern materials for the production of boilers. New technologies were also tested that could simplify the production process. In addition, the company tried to automate all processes and eliminate the human factor. As a result, subsequent models of electrode boilers have become safer. This is largely due to the solution of network closure problems. Also, new fire-resistant materials were able to guarantee the safety during operation of the device.
In 1998, all models of Galan electrode boilers were equipped with a new function. It allowed to significantly save electricity. As a result of the tests, scientists concluded that the cost was reduced by 30% compared to previous models.
Further, the Galan company set its sights on the production of new electrode boilers for heating large houses and utility rooms. They were produced with a specific power from 4 to 26 kW. Such boilers were designed to heat an area of approximately 500 cubic meters. m. They had an attractive appearance and did not spoil the interior of the room.
To control such boilers, the regulator was soon improved. It had many functions and allowed you to constantly monitor the operation of the device. The first control unit was called "Galan 0456".
Antifreeze
Since the creation of electrode boilers, there has been an acute problem associated with the formation of scale on the surface of heat exchange sections. As a result, corrosion appeared, and then such a unit could no longer be operated normally.
In 1988, Galan scientists began to develop a new antifreeze that could deal with such problems. Soon it was released, and in the first days showed itself on the positive side. Its advantage was the possibility of using the device for low temperatures. Antifreeze was allowed to be used even at -60 degrees. At the same time, it prevented the formation of scale on the surface and could remove the already existing layer. Scale dissolution even at such low temperatures occurred with the help of special additives that were added to antifreeze.
Successful novelty
The devices in question deserved real popularity in 1999. At this time, a new model was released - the electrode boiler "Galan" "Ochag-3". It was radically different from previous developments and had good performance. In many ways, this was made possible thanks to the use of innovative materials. In addition, the research center "Galan" was able to make significant progress in its research and did not stop improving production technology. Given this, the Galan electrode boiler Ochag-3 was considered the most popular model and was in great demand. However, a new model "Galan" "Ochag-5" was soon released. It differed from the previous copy in much greater power. As a rule, it was used in rooms larger than 80 sq.m.
In 2001, the company released a new antifreeze "Galan Potok". He was distinguished by additives that did their job better. The existing scale was well removed, the formation of a new layer was prevented. All this was reflected in the durability of the use of such devices as electrode heating boilers "Galan". Antifreeze was soon approved by the Ministry of Health Russian Federation and became widely used by consumers.
Electric electrode boilers "Galan" with replaceable cassettes
In 2001, specialists began to work on new devices that would have replaceable cassettes for electrodes. The purpose of this development was to improve the design of the device. Boilers with replaceable cassettes are very easy to use. Unlike previous models, their repair was much easier. Additional maintenance was inexpensive. At the same time, the devices were much more powerful. These types of electrode boilers include "Galan" "Geyser-9" and "Galan" "Geyser-25". According to the characteristics, they are able to heat rooms with an area of more than 320 square meters. m.
Temperature regulator
In 2003, the first automatic "Galan" was released under the name "Navigator". The peculiarity of this device was in its program. With the help of this device it became possible to program heating system depending on the time of day. The microcontroller of the device had special indicators that showed all the settings. Additionally, the "Navigator" was equipped with a circuit breaker with an electromagnetic relay. The power of this contactor was 20 kW. All this provided greater reliability and comfort of use. "Navigator" had an interesting design and looked good in any room. It should also be noted its low cost.
Operation of the electrode boiler
The principle of operation of the considered devices is built on electrodes that are installed in the indoor unit. The whole process begins after applying voltage to this block. In this case, water ions begin to move from the anode to the cathode. The voltage frequency at this stage is 50 Hz. From continuous movement, the temperature of the water begins to rise. As a result, the batteries heat up, but not immediately. As a result, the network in the house is not overloaded, and the heating system can be operated without failures when the Galan electrode boilers are operating. The connection diagram of the device is shown below.
Mounting
Installing the Galan electrode boiler with your own hands is quite difficult. As a rule, installation is entrusted only to specialists. However, you can also make it yourself. First of all, you need to make sure that you have all the parts that will be needed for installation. The complete set includes the boiler itself, the temperature controller and the pipe for the riser.
In order to connect the boiler to the heating system, it is necessary to connect the outlet to the riser. In this case, it is necessary to pay attention to the diameter of the outlet pipe. As a rule, people try to install the Galan electrode boiler with their own hands by connecting pipes of different sizes using various clamps. However, this is a gross violation of the rules for using the electrode device. The outlet must not be narrowed or enlarged.
It is connected last. In order to fix it correctly, you must carefully study the instructions. To date, the company produces various types of temperature controllers, so the installation of the Galan electrode boiler can take place in different ways.
Model "Galan" "Ochag-3"
This electrode boiler "Galan" has good reviews and is in great demand. It is best suited for heating small spaces. One of the features of this model is a high-quality ionization chamber. It has a compact size, so heating occurs gradually. The load on the network is minimal when the Galan electrode boilers are turned on. The connection diagram of the device is quite simple.
Device characteristics
The rated voltage of this device is 220 V. The system current is AC. The rated voltage frequency is at 50 Hz. Additionally, a high maximum current threshold should be noted. For each phase with a frequency of 50 Hz, this figure is 13.7 A. In this case, the rated power consumption is 3 kW.
It should also be noted that this electric boiler "Galan" "Hearth" (electrode) has a large volume of coolant (from 20 to 50 liters). At the same time, you can heat a room up to 120 cubic meters. m. You also need to know the cross section of the conductive core of the connection cable. In this model, it has a diameter of 4 mm. The outlet for connection to the coupling of the heating system is 32 mm. The total mass of this electrode boiler is 1 kg. At the same time, it is just over 300 mm long and 90 mm wide. Protection class - the first. Additionally, protection against moisture is provided. The total power consumption of this electrode boiler is at the level of 500 kW for one month of operation.
Equipment
The standard set for a device such as the Galan electrode boiler is an instruction, the device itself and the control unit. The controller has as many as three channels and allows you to adjust the temperature every week. It is also possible to program the device. A special mode is able to save any program with climate control.
Model "Ochag-5"
This electrode boiler "Galan" receives positive reviews due to its high power. As a result, it is able to heat large houses and cottages. Among the features can be distinguished convenient management. At the same time, the control unit has many functions, and it can be configured in a variety of ways. Electricity consumption will directly depend on the selected temperature. It should also be noted the ability to set the temperature of the radiator. At the same time, this model has a high class of protection. If a short circuit occurs in the network, the boiler will instantly turn off. The same thing will happen, for example, if the wires in the device overheat.
If there is a leak of the coolant (liquid for electrode boilers "Galan"), the protection system will let you know about it, and you can immediately take some measures to prevent an accident. Not only is it used as a coolant drinking water but also distilled. Some even use rain water. Manufacturers, in turn, advise all customers to purchase a special liquid "Galan Argus".
Characteristics of the model "Ochag-5"
The rated power of the device is at the level of 220 V. The current is alternating. The rated voltage frequency in this case is 50 Hz. The maximum allowable current of the device reaches 22.7 A. In this case, the power consumption of the electrode boiler is 5.5 kW. The volume of the coolant is in the range from 30 to 60 liters. All this allows you to successfully heat an area of more than 200 cubic meters. m. The diameter of the conductive wire is 4 mm. In this case, the outlet for the coupling is 32 mm. The mass of the installed electrode boiler is 1.05 kg.
The described electrode "Galan" "Center 5" has a length of 310 mm and a width of 90 mm. The total power consumption is 830 kW per month. This is a fairly high figure, but much in this situation depends on the selected mode during operation.
Model "Ochag-6"
This electrode boiler "Galan" deserves good reviews. This is largely due to the high power of the device. The difference of this model lies in the low inertia. Plus, a convenient sensor is installed that monitors the heating temperature. Automatic system control works reliably. A protection system is also provided that allows you to deal with power surges in the network. When the frequency of the current changes, the power of the boiler drops, but it continues to work.
Additionally, this model has a modest size, which can not but rejoice. At the same time, it, like previous developments, quickly heats up and provides the desired temperature.
"Hearth-6". Characteristics
The power consumption of the device is approximately 1000 kW per month. Additionally, protection against moisture is provided, which is classified as "IP-3". It should also be noted the high class of protection against electric shock. As mentioned earlier, this model is famous for its small dimensions. Its length is 300 mm and its width is 85 mm. Weight - 1 kg assembled. It should also be noted a convenient connector for connecting the coupling to the heating system. The hole diameter is 32 mm. At the same time, the connection wire diameter is 6 mm, which is slightly larger than in previous models.
The volume of the coolant is set in the range from 35 to 70 liters. At the same time, it can heat a room of more than 250 cubic meters. m. It should also be noted the high level of power consumption. Rated consumption is 6 kW, but much depends on the selected climate control.
The maximum boiler current at a frequency of 50 Hz is 27.3 A. This figure is based on only one phase. The total nominal voltage frequency is 50 Hz. The current in the system is variable. At the same time, the nominal voltage of the electrode boiler is 220 V. Connection of the electrode boiler "Galan" "Ochag-6" depends on its configuration.
What's included?
The standard set of such a device as the Galan electrode boiler is an instruction, a boiler, and a control unit. Additionally, you can choose a convenient temperature controller. The most common device has a small number of options, while it is very easy to use. However, the three-channel electronic unit is able to cope with complex tasks. As a rule, it is programmed separately for each day of the week. However, you can always make further adjustments to it.
Installation and connection of gas and electric boilers require appropriate permits from the relevant authorities. But, if you use Galan heating systems, then all the bureaucratic aspects of this issue remain irrelevant. Boilers of the same name for space heating are electrode and heating elements.
Boilers and connection
Electrode boilers
- Any Galant heating system is equipped with flow-type boilers of the same name, which do not require permission to install them.
But, for the operation of such a device, grounding is required that meets the requirements of the PUE and GOST 12.1.030-81. - The process of heating the coolant does not occur due to the unit itself, but by passing an electric current through the liquid.
Both electrodes connected to the network are directly in the water, so you will need instructions to select the coolant. - Unlike TENovyh boilers in electrode heaters, the liquid itself is a source of heating.
That is, the electric current, instead of being closed in the circuit of the heating element spiral, is closed directly in the coolant, which performs the function of a spiral. This difference leads to savings of at least 20%, which naturally increases the price of electrode boilers. - In the event of a coolant leakage, the device will not work, because the electric current will not be able to close in the circuit (no liquid - no conductor).
This principle is good in that in case of damage to the boiler, the loss of liquid will not lead to a fire hazard. - Also, the Galant heating system can be equipped with an automatic temperature control device, both for the radiator itself and for the air in the heated room.
Such a device is able to provide round-the-clock monitoring of the air temperature in the room, turning the boiler on and off. Basically, you can install climate control in your room.
- If we look at the process of heating a liquid from the point of view of physical chemistry, then in this case it is not electrolysis that occurs, but ionization, or, in other words, the splitting of molecules into positive and negative charges.
Considering that the current frequency in our network is 50 Hz, the electrodes will change polarity 50 times in one second, therefore, the ions will move in one direction or the other, creating energy with their movement, that is, heating the coolant. - The chamber for heating the coolant has a relatively small size, and during ionization, the liquid is rapidly heated, which, in turn, provides a pressure of up to 2 atm.
Thanks to this process, the device serves not only as a heater, but also circulation pump for the system.

Recommendation. For boilers "Ochag", "Geyser" and "Volcano", which are manufactured by the company "Galan", the use of liquid "Argus-Galan" is strongly recommended as a coolant. Freezing temperature -40⁰ C, service life - 5 years, warranty - 1 year.
It is categorically contraindicated to use liquids that are not intended for heating Galant, but, nevertheless, are antifreezes, such as "Tosol" or "Arktika".
In the case of using automation that is not recommended by CJSC "Galan", warranty obligations lose their status.
Similar sanctions apply to cases where automation is recommended but not applied.
Installation of the electrode boiler in the heating system
- Electrode (TEN) boiler;
- Ball valve;
- Circulation pump;
- Filter;
- Trigger valve;
- Expansion tank;
- Boiler automation;
- Protective group.
In order to install an electrode boiler with your own hands, you will need a two-pipe type. The installation of the boiler is allowed to be carried out strictly in a vertical position and only above the radiators.
Binding must be done according to the following ratios:
- Boiler block diameter - 32 mm (one and a quarter of an inch);
- The riser diameter is 32 mm (one and a quarter of an inch).
For modular (parallel) systems, the diameter of the riser is calculated individually and will depend on the number of boilers in this package.
In this case, the diameter of the main pipe will be 25 mm, and the outlets to the radiators will be 20 mm.
- The initial 120 cm of metal not for the coolant supply must be 32 mm in diameter and be located vertically.
This ratio increases the ionization zone of the coolant, and hence the efficiency of the boiler itself. - When choosing radiators, it is necessary to take into account the capabilities of the boiler - the total power of the sections cannot exceed the rated power of the heater.
It should be taken into account that the heat transfer heating batteries depends on the material of manufacture and must always be specified by the manufacturer.

- Expansion tank;
- Boiler automation;
- Protective group;
- Underfloor heating contour;
- Automation for floor heating;
- Room thermostat;
- Valve with servo drive;
- Bypass with thermostat and non-return valve.
- To tie the electrode boiler into the previously operated heating system, it must be flushed with the Protector inhibitor.
Otherwise, salt deposits left from the previous heating will not allow you to correctly adjust the density of the coolant for heating device. The electrode heater works excellently for underfloor heating, subject to all installation rules. - To install the electrode boiler in the heating system in the Galan-BeeRT configuration, it is required to fill it with distilled water only. In cases where voltage drops are possible in the network, and this is most often a decrease, a stabilizer must be connected to the circuit.
The boiler must be grounded using the “0” terminal for this.

- Ball valve;
- circulation pump;
- Filter;
- Drain valve;
- Expansion tank;
- Boiler automation;
- Protective group;
- Three-way valve with servo drive;
- Circuit for floor heating;
- Automatic floor heating.
- In order for the heating system to work correctly and economically, the climate control device must be located strictly in a certain place, provided for by the installation instructions. It is also necessary to adhere to the volume of coolant in the heating system, which should be no more than 12 liters per 1 kW of power consumption, and even better if this volume reaches an average of 8-10 liters / 1 kW.
- The presence of a protective group in the form of a pressure gauge, a deaeration valve and a blast valve. To clean the coolant from dissolved aluminum alloys (in this case, the specific density of the coolant changes), it is recommended to use a special additive "Protok" or a sludge and air separator.
Profitability of the electrode and heating element boiler
- The photo of the graph above shows the difference in the duration of heating of the coolant for the electrode and heating element units. Of course, the electrode boiler is a clear winner over heating elements.
- Heat in electrode boilers, where water serves as a conductor of electric current, is formed according to the Joule-Lenz law and is displayed by the well-known formula Q \u003d CJ2Rt. If we take into account that the equivalent heat (C) for water is 0.24 cal / joul, then we need to multiply this C by the current strength J and by the water resistance R by the current passage time t.
- In the electrode boiler, the resistance of the coolant, in our case - water, decreases and due to this, its thermal conductivity increases, so the power gradually (as it heats up) increases.
This suggests that the Galan heating system concentrates power gradually and gives off its energy through the coolant at the same speed.
The total consumer power of the device, expressed in kWh, will depend on the set temperature on the automatic control, as well as on the volume of water in the system.
- A single-phase electrode boiler with a power of 3 kW consumes from 0.5 to 0.7 kW / h in a room of 50 m 2, while a heating element unit with the same parameters will consume from 1.1 to 1.4 kW / h, but already at 30 m 2 area. The situation is exactly the same with three-phase boilers - electrode devices are much more economical than heating elements.
Conclusion
On this page, you can additionally watch a video clip to evaluate the advantages of Galan electrode boilers. Despite the fact that such systems are new, they quickly gained recognition and are in great demand among buyers.
Private family enterprise "Galant" was founded in 1994. His goal was to bring to the market a new product in the field of heating - an electrode heating boiler. At that time, it was used in the navy on submarines. One craftsman tried to make a heating device out of military equipment for use in living conditions. Through numerous experiments, he invented an electrode heating device that can be used in everyday life. The first advertising of electrode boilers through television showed interest and demand in a new type of heating.
Today, PE "Galant" produces more than 20 000 models of heating products, which include:
- electric, electrode, heating elements and hot water boilers;
- electronic control systems for climate equipment;
- digital temperature controllers;
- heating systems;
- high-tech coolants (antifreezes).
Galan boilers are divided into:
- electrode;
- TENovye.
flow type does not require approval with boiler supervision authorities for installation. Heating occurs due to the impact on the coolant by electric current. As a result of the induction process, the temperature of the medium - the coolant - rises. The ions move from the positive to the negative electrodes, which change poles, causing the ions to oscillate and thus produce energy. That. in electrode boilers, the liquid plays the role of a heater.
The liquid must have the required conductivity. For boilers Galan - 2950−3150 OMhsm at a temperature of 20 degrees. Resistance is measured with a conductometer. The electrode boiler is started on a non-freezing coolant Argus Galan, having the required conductivity. In the case of starting on distilled water, it is salted - on 100 liters of water 5 gr. salt.
For continuous and reliable operation of the boiler, the heating system must be open type, two-pipe (supply and return diameter 32–40 mm) with top filling, a supply riser at least 2 m high, the amount of coolant in the system up to 12 liters per 1 kW.
Electrode boilers cannot be used for:
- heating of pools, heat-insulated floors, access roads, beds in greenhouses, roofs, steps;
- in heating systems made of galvanized pipes and in systems with cast-iron radiators;
- metal-plastic and polypropylene pipes are not recommended for use as a vertical riser above the boiler.
Heat the room from 80 to 800 sq. m. it is possible with electrode boilers GALAN - "Hearth", "Geyser", "Volcano" - with a power of 2 to 25 kW. The products are very compact and light in weight - from 1.5 to 5.7 kg. The service life of the product is at least 5 years.
heating elements heating boilers Galan. Heating elements are made of high-quality stainless steel. Heating elements Hearth, Geyser, Volcano can work with single-phase and three-phase networks. Boilers can be equipped with electronic or electromechanical control devices at the request of the customer. Installation of the product simplifies the supply wires connected to the outputs of the heaters in the terminal box and the connection of the ground wire. Electric boilers are ideal for heating apartment buildings, and also used in systems:
- warm floors;
- large displacement;
- classical heating system;
- heating of roofs and gutters;
- for removal of ice and snow on driveways, steps, open areas, etc.;
- together with a heater.
Heat up a room from 70 to 750 sq. m. it is possible with heating elements with a capacity of 3 to 30 kW. The weight of the product is 3.5-10 kg.
Electric boilers of the STELS series
Used in houses, cottages, garden houses, apartments of multi-storey buildings, bathhouses, public premises and in other cases where there is no or inefficient central heating. Use in three-phase networks and only in closed heating systems. They can be integrated into already installed heating systems.
Electric boiler in the form of a monoblock, where they are combined heaters and automation. This feature allows you to provide a set temperature for the supply and return pipes, as well as protection against overheating. Before turning on the boiler, be sure to check tightness of connections to the heating system - fill the system with coolant. Electric boilers can also be used as an additional source of heat.
Household heating boilers have been replenished with new models - Galan electrode boilers, which have an obvious advantage. Unlike others heating appliances, the electrode boiler does not need to be approved for installation in accordance with the current "Rules". What are the models of the new boiler, and what conditions exist for its own connection?
Galan boilers, principle of operation, technical characteristics and design
The electrode heating boiler is a heating element equipped with materials from a European manufacturer. Recall that this is AISI 316L stainless steel and nichrome with increased load capacity, which can withstand a long work cycle.
Principle of operation Galan electrode boiler consists in passing electric current (electrolysis) through a special non-freezing coolant.
Electrolysis and heat transfer of the heated state of the electrodes is carried out at DC. The compact design of the heating blocks is distinguished by the small overall dimensions and weight of the boiler assembly. The coolant of the heating electrode system is antifreeze.
technical characteristics of electrode boilers
Basic technical specification boiler electrode is power.
The range of electrode boilers is represented by the Ochag, Geyser and Vulkan models.
The smallest heating boiler is a series HOME , which has an insignificant power consumption (from 2 to 6 kW), intended for heating an area of 120, 230 and 280 cubic meters.
For example, the Galan hearth 3 electrode boiler has the following characteristics:
- overall dimensions: length 275 mm, 35 mm, device weight less than 1 kg.
- power of 3 kW allows you to heat a room with an area of 120 m3.
Models GEYSER of medium productivity have increased power - 9 and 15 kW with the possibility of heating a room with an area of 340 and 550 m3. Overall dimensions are 360 and 410 mm, 130 mm, weight 5 kg.
The most powerful models are VOLCANO , with a capacity of 25, 36 and 50 kW and are designed for space heating from 830 to 1650 m3.
The linear efficiency of the electrode boiler can reach 96-98%. In relation to the traditional heating element, the efficiency of the electrode boiler is up to 50% due to the method of direct heating of the coolant.
construction of electrode boilers
The first thing that catches your eye when you see electrode boilers is an unusual design. Instead of a pot-bellied and voluminous boiler, long cylindrical structures with two threaded flanges, indicated by arrows different color(incoming blue and outgoing red). The metal body of the boiler can have a diameter of 40 to 100 mm and a length of 310 - 350 mm.
In the process of electrolysis and during heating of the coolant in the boiler, the internal pressure rises to 2 atm. The heated water is pushed up, providing the functions of a circulation pump. In addition, Galan electrode boilers are distinguished by the presence heating automation with a simple instrument control system.
Particular attention deserves multifunctional control units designed to implement a certain algorithm for the operation of electric heaters. It will be difficult to install and install an electrode boiler without certain knowledge.
The installation process comes down to installing the Galan boiler directly, attachments, piping, connecting electronics and pumping coolant into the heating system.
Contents of delivery
The scope of delivery of the electrode boiler from the manufacturer includes:
- electrode block with power from 3-50 kW
- power unit, including circuit breaker, modular contactor and digital water temperature controller
- digital air temperature controller "climate control" unit.
Attachments (expansion tank and pump) are not included in the delivery, so their parameters are pre-calculated, and the equipment is purchased separately.
heating system requirements
To ensure the normal functioning of the heating system, a number of requirements must be met:
- the proposed heating system should be two-pipe closed type with membrane expansion tank (volume 1/10L)
- the boiler is mounted vertically, without exceeding the level of the radiators
- when piping the boiler, it is recommended to observe the ratio of the diameters of the boiler block (Ø 32), riser Ø32 (1 ″ / 1/4), line (Ø 25), leads to the radiator (Ø 20).
Piping of the electrode boiler
The following components of the heating system are subject to piping of the electrode boiler:
- expansion tank
- circulation pump
- security group
- return taps and coarse filter
- coolant inlet valve
- valve for draining the coolant from the system
- supply tap.
Before installation and installation of the Galan electrode boiler, it is necessary to calculate the components of the heating system. The power of the boiler is calculated according to the area of \u200b\u200bthe room and the height of the ceilings, as well as the material of the walls of the house or apartment. Then they determine the place of the future installation of the boiler and develop a scheme and decoupling of the mains, the type of radiators.
If it is planned to install the boiler in an existing heating system (in most cases), then the calculation may be limited to the correct piping and connection of the power unit and thermostat.
We install the Galan boiler
For installation of the boiler Galan use plastic pipes. In horizontal wiring it is necessary to create a slope of 3 degrees. The height of the vertical riser must be at least 2 m above the boiler. The electrode boiler requires grounding with a grounding resistance of 4 ohms.
After installing the boiler, place expansion tank and circulation pump. Stopcocks installed on the main pipeline after the return and expansion tank. Valves are installed before and after the radiator group.
How to mount the boiler and standard attachments is shown here.
Boiler connection diagrams
There are several boiler connection schemes: basic standard, parallel connection and connection to the underfloor heating system for a rated voltage of 220 and 380 V and many other equally interesting schemes.
The simplest are the connection diagrams for a single-phase electrode boiler or a three-phase electrode boiler with control electronics, a circulation pump and a filter. But no matter what scheme you prefer to implement, a prerequisite is the grounding of the installation.
For example, for an electrode boiler galan hearth 3 with a nominal power consumption of 3 kW, according to the basic connection scheme, a voltage with a frequency of 50 Hz and a maximum current of the boiler in phases of 13.7 A and a starting current of 5 A is required.
In this case, the connection is carried out using a conductive copper core of a wire with a cross section of 4 mm2 and to the heating system using a DN 32 mm coupling.
But the electrode boiler remained an ordinary boiler, if the heating system did not have controls with a unit for measuring and adjusting the operating parameters of KROS.
Electronic boiler control
The electronic control is a device equipped with a sensor unit, a cable and an interface plug for connection to a standard RS232 interface. Schematically, the electronic control of the boiler (KROS) consists of controllers, a boiler power regulator, an electronic key for controlling the circulation pump.
There are current controllers and coolant conductivity controllers. The current controller limits the current value at the operating level set at system startup.
The conductivity controller performs the functions of determining the state of the coolant: it turns off the boiler when the heat carrier reaches a critical level of conductivity or continues to work. Conductivity and carrier temperature sensors are remote.
For installation of cables of the control unit, a wire with a cross section of 0.12-2.5 mm2 is used. The ends of the cable for control circuits are stripped by 7-10 mm. The terminal screws loosen and install the wires. It is necessary to tighten the terminals with a force of no more than 2 Nm.
Video will help to connect the control unit.
After installation and connection, electrolyte is pumped into the heating system and the heating parameters are adjusted. To control the current strength in the system, mounted clamps are used.
